A small village in rural north-east Essex in which about 250 people live. There is a rich community life centred around the church and the village hall. We hope to use this website and facebook page to inform people of what is going on in the village and to encourage everyone to get involved.
I am sure you are all aware but TDC have asked us to make sure everyone knows about the possibility of snow and ice this weekend. If you are in need of assistance ,please contact Geoff via Facebook or by phone 860065. ... See MoreSee Less
Nature is stirring and I was wondering if I could once again make a gentle call to arms to Beaumont villagers to assist in the churchyard during the summer months, so we can bend mother nature our way our way (rather than the other way round!) and continue our work of maintaining/improving this beautiful setting as a fitting memorial to departed loved ones.
The idea is to convene on morning of the first Saturday of each month From April to October.
So this year the dates in question are:
We normally meet for one or two hours, strimming, pruning, weeding…..whatever you fancy really – there’s something for everyone/all talents/ages etc.
Early birds are always welcome but people normally get down between about 9.00 and 10.00 with tea, coffee, biscuits, chat on offer.
We’ve made great strides in improving the churchyard in recent years, and it would be nice, with your help, to continue with the work again this year.
One project in particular will be to improve an area which used to be full of brambles so that a seat kindly donated by Bob Cole and family in memory of his first wife Mary Barton can be positioned in an appropriate setting.
If you’d like to get involved, it would be great to see you there – just come along to any of the dates shown above, you will be assured of a very warm welcome; or if you’d like further details please contact Will Griffiths. ... See MoreSee Less
